Scott Nottingham is an engineer and author who writes at the intersection of technology, human behavior, and the difficult questions that shape our future.
With a background in computer engineering, networking, radio-frequency systems, open-source software, and performance engineering, Scott has spent his career studying how complex systems behave—especially when real people, imperfect information, and unintended consequences enter the picture.
Across genres, he returns to a common set of questions: What remains distinctly human as technology grows more capable? Why do intelligent people make dangerous choices? How does knowledge become wisdom?
A Purdue University graduate, Scott lives in the greater Chicago area with his family. He is a husband, father, engineer, builder, and lifelong enthusiast of nearly everything.
